Description
Xylokett Adult Formulation
- Concentration: Adult formulations typically contain 0.1% Xylometazoline Hydrochloride, which is stronger than the 0.05% used in junior formulations.
- Indications: Used for relieving nasal congestion due to:
- Common cold
- Sinusitis
- Allergic rhinitis
- Nasal congestion associated with upper respiratory infections
Dosage and Usage:
- Adults and Children over 12 Years:
- Dosage: 1–2 drops or sprays in each nostril, 2–3 times daily.
- Duration: Do not exceed 5–7 consecutive days to prevent rebound congestion (rhinitis medicamentosa).
- Follow the same administration steps:
- Clean the nasal passage.
- Tilt the head slightly back.
- Administer drops or spray into each nostril.
- Stay still for a few seconds to let the medicine take effect.
Precautions:
- Avoid in cases of:
- Severe cardiovascular issues
- Hyperthyroidism
- Narrow-angle glaucoma
- Pregnancy (consult a doctor)
- Not for prolonged use: Prolonged use can lead to dependency or rebound congestion.
